Thanksgiving Weekend

It was so nice to have such a long weekend for Thanksgiving. Not only do we not have to work, but we get to spend time with friends and family. AND we, well I get to do the "after Thanksgiving Day sales"! After a nice Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Garrett's (Ryan's mom's mom) we vistited Ryan's other side of the family, Grandma and Grandpa Goodrich then Ryan went to a movie while I headed to my parent's house to try and get in at least 2 hours of sleep before our big night out shopping! My sister Teneil and I started a little tradition of hitting up all the sales the day after Thanksgiving. Last year Fasion Place Mall opened at 12:00 AM and this year it was doing the same. Only there were more malls opening at that time so it wasn't half as crowded as it was last year. It really was a lot of fun. My brother Tanner's girlfriend Ger came with us at midnight, then my sister Tawnya met up with us around 4:30 at Wal-Mart. After getting what we could at Wal-Mart we hit up Old Navy, then Target around 6:00 when it opened, then Shopko after that. It really was a blast and we all got a ton of our Christmas shopping done. The picture above is Teneil and I after our first stop. That's only about half of our bags we're holding. We kept making fun of Ger 'cause she only had one little bag from American Eagle. (I know, we look hot)

We got done shopping around 7:30 in the morning. We headed back to my parent's and transferred all of our bags to our cars. After eating some breakfast I hit the hay. I was SO tired and didn't feel quite caught up after my 2 hour nap. But, I had gotten enough sleep to get me through the rest of the day.

Ryan and I met up with his family at his parent's house to go out to dinner. We ate at this (somewhat) new restaurant called Bonsai. It was really good and actually quite entertaining. A chef cooked all the food right in front of you on a big grill and also tried tossing some shrimp into our mouths.

After we all stuffed our faces, we went back to his parent's and decided we needed a little treat to top it off. So, Stephanie and Cathie went to the store and bought Vanilla ice cream as well as every topping you can imagine. We made some delicious ice cream sundaes. Cathie was very proud of hers- as you can see . . .

After we were satisfied with our dessert, we put on a movie called "Rescue Dawn" which I actually got Ryan for Christmas but, he wanted it a little early 'cause he loves it so much. No one really liked it but me, Ryan, A-rus and Cathie, but if anyone knows the Goodrich's, you know most of them don't like movies at all.

The next day Ryan and I spent almost all day at my Grandma Betty's. She was nice enough to make us some lunch and dinner with her Thanksgiving left overs. Then Ryan and I went out to eat with Jordan and Dave, then met up with Kelly and Melissa at my parent's house and watched "Rescue Dawn" yes, again. It really is that good.

I just wanted to take a quick minute to say how thankful I am for everyone and everything in my life. I am so glad we have a holiday to recognize all that we have. I have been so blessed to not have any major tragedies in my life. I don't know what I'd do without my wonderful husband Ryan as well as my family and his. I hear so many horror stories of spouses that can't stand their in-laws, but as you can probably tell by my blog- I love mine SO much! It's funny how it takes moving away to realize how much family really means to you. I'm just glad that we have all stayed so close throughout the years. I'm grateful for a nice home to live in, a job to support us, and a church that is true. There are a million other things- but it would take all month to let everyone know all that I'm thankful for. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope Christmas will be just as good!

Tag I'm It!

How long have you been together? Well, we met when I was probably 12, then started dating when I was 17, got married when I was 19, and now I'm 21 :) you do the math.

How long did you date? 2 1/2 to 3 years

How old is he? 24

Who eats more? As most of you probably know . . . me. I'm always hungry!

Who said I love you first? Surprisingly enough, he did. I'm usually always first to say and do stuff- I guess I was a little intimidated.

Who is taller? Ry Guy

Who sings better? Ryan for sure! He has an awesome voice.

Who is smarter? It kind of depends on what- Ryan is definitely smarter when it comes to things like, fishing, sports, title/mortgage stuff - but I think I know a little more about computers, kids, and language.

Who does the laundry? Me, but Ryan's pretty good at helping if he's in the mood.

Who does the dishes? Candice Goodrich LOL if we do do them, it's pretty even, Ryan and I switch off.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? It depends- looking at it, He is on the right. Laying down, I am on the right. I swear I'm the only one though out of all the tags I've read that sleeps on that side . . .

Who pays the bills? I do - if I didn't, they would either get forgotten or be mailed ON the due date.

Who mows the lawn? The landscapers that are hired to our complex :) We haven't really had our OWN yard yet. But Ryan loves mowing so much he's always mowing his parents. I've never mowed a lawn in my life with 3 brothers and Mom who loves yard work, so I'm glad I have a husband who knows how.

Who cooks dinner? I usually do it, but Ryan loves to cook so he offers to do it a lot.

Who drives when you are together? Ryan, I'm usually night night

Who is more stubborn? Me

Who kissed who first? Well, after looking into each others eyes with that "here comes a kiss" feeling for 5 minutes Ryan finally worked up the guts to kiss me. (do you think the fact that I was his best friends little sister had anything to do with the hesitation?)

Who asked who out? Ryan asked me! I don't think I've ever been more excited, I went and bought a new outfit and everything. Kind of embarrassing for him when Ty asked him if he could hang out that night and he had to say he had a date . . . with me!

Who proposed? My Ry Guy

Who is more sensitive? This depends as well, 'cause Ryan can be REALLY sensitive when it comes to certain things. Yet he can call me the doofiest wife in America and it won't even phase me. But I have my sensitive subjects as well.

Who has more friends? He does for sure. Really, when I think about it- I have like 2 friends to buy gifts for for Christmas. The rest are for family and his friends- but his friends are my friends too :)

Who has more siblings? There are 7 kids in my fam, 5 in his

Who wears the pants in the family? He thinks I do, but everyone and their dog knows he does.

Tag now you're it!

James Taylor in Vegas

Last weekend we went to the James Taylor concert in Las Vegas with my parents. We didn't have work on Monday so Ryan was looking online to see who was playing in Vegas and found James Taylor! Ryan has never been to a James Taylor concert before and it was SO good! He is one of our favorite singers if you couldn't tell by our playlist :)
We left Saturday morning and stopped in St. George to eat and drop off some things. Then drove to Vegas to do a little shopping and what not. We went through the Belagio Gardens which were really neat this time. They had these really neat trees with water coming out and these HUGE pumpkins. Everything- (as far as plants and flowers go) is real.
It really amazes me how they can always think of something different to do. I've been to these Gardens many many times and have not seen the same set up yet. There was this cool guy that they probably did for halloween that looked like a character right out of "The Labrynth" or "Never Ending Story". My mom was loving it.
So after looking through a few more stores and eating dinner at the Belagio Cafe we walked back to Mandalay Bay for the concert. Cameras weren't allowed so I didn't get any pictures of us or James, but it was really really good! He played every song I wanted him to and then some. He came out for FOUR encores. Very talented singer and guitar player. If you haven't been and you like his music, I highly recommend going before he retires.
Here is another pictures of that guy. (I wish he had a name) Look at all the detail they put into him. Pretty sweet!

You're Invited!

. . . To my Sweet 'n' Simple craft party! I just wanted to invite everyone to a party I'm throwing this Thursday. I sent out some invitations, but didn't have very many. So, if you didn't get one, I either didn't know your address, or ran out of invitations and I'm sorry. So, I thought I'd just invite you with this post! I'll bring all my signs I've made and you can buy them, or order anything you'd like. So feel free to join us on Thursday the 15th at my mother-in-law Cathie's house at 3615 S. 2400 E. in Holladay. You're welcome to bring family and friends as well. Hope to see you all there!

I got some comments and realized I forgot to post a time- it's just an open house from 6:30 to 8:30. I also wanted to let you all know that I don't have a credit card machine yet since I'm just starting out, so I can only accept cash and checks. Sorry about that!

Walker Website

This one is more for the fam. I don't know if you've noticed the "Walker Website" link I have under "My Favorite Blogs", but I just wanted to let everyone know Heather and I started a Walker Website where you can go to find out about things going on with the Walker side of the family. All we really have right now is the Christmas list for the Walker Christmas party. But we're going to start putting birthdays and information about parties or showers. So, I hope this will be of some help to our family now that we have over 100 people on the Walker side. So, you can either click on the Walker Website link, or go to http://www.walkerwebsite.blogspot.com/ Let me know if you can think of anything else we may need to post. Thanks!
