2 months

I was told by a lot of people to "enjoy life without kids, because once you have them life isn't the same". I keep waiting to feel like "I should have waited longer" or give that same warning to others, but the only thing I ever think is "I can't believe what I've been missing out on!"
I love waking up every morning and seeing Sara's big smile when she sees me. I love to hold her and kiss her and sleep with her when I can. She really is the light of my life and I love being a Mom more than anything. She had her 2 month appointment yesterday to get some shots :( I felt so bad- she was dead asleep. So when the nurse came in Ryan asked if there was any way she could give her the shots without waking her up. lol (he was kidding of course)The nurse looked at us with the most shocked look on her face. Sara actually did pretty good, only cried for a second. She weighs 10 lbs 15 oz and is 22 1/2 inches long. She's in the 50% for everything but her head, she was in the 70th percent for that. Poor girl got her daddy's noggin. That's okay though, she's still the cutest girl ever!It took a while for us to determine what color eyes Sara was going to have. Especially because Ryan has brown and I have hazel we were waiting to see some other color besides blue, but we never did. Her eyes are definitely blue and so pretty. She really recognizes her Mom and Dad because she gets the biggest smile anytime she sees our faces- that is... until we get the camera out, then her smile disappears and she just stares at the camera like "what is that?"
She loves Baby Einstein. I know it says on the box to have them start watching at 3 months but she always loves to watch TV so I thought I'd try out the Einstein DVDs. Sara loves the water! She loves to take baths or to even just hear running water, so I thought I'd get her the "discovering water" dvd even though it says for 6-9 months, and she actually likes that one more than the 3-6 month one. She seriously watches the whole thing through without fussing once, she doesn't take her eyes off the TV. She's never made it all the way through the other one yet.

So, that's our little update on Sara. We are seriously so blessed to have her in our lives and we love her so much! For those of you who don't have kids- you're missing out ;)

A Day At The Beach

Sara has been to the beach once before, but we thought since we had friends up this last weekend it'd be fun to spend a day at the beach. So we got some towels, brought some drinks and grabbed Chief to go to the beach. It was a pretty fun day just relaxing and enjoying the last bit of sun we will probably be able to enjoy for a while.
The leaves are already starting to change and I have had to turn on our heat a few times because it gets so cold. Don't get me wrong, I love Autumn, it is actually my favorite season, I just wish it would last a little longer because after fall is winter- and if winter is anything like it was last year... it is never ending.
So, the guys played with Chief while Melissa and I held Sara. It was a really fun day that we finished off with a BBQ at our place.

Sara's First Trip and New Cousins

This last weekend Ryan and I were planning to go to Vegas to visit our new niece Mary because we thought she may be home from the hospital. Well, it turned out she had to stay a few more days, but we thought since we were already planning to go down, we could go visit and make a trip out of it. So Ryan got us some tickets for the play Les Miserables at Tuacahn and we headed down to St. George Friday morning. We stayed in St. George Friday night and headed to Vegas Saturday morning. We had to first make a stop at The Belagio to eat some breakfast at their cafe, then we went to the hospital to visit baby Mary.
Feel free to take a peek at my brother and sister-in-law's blog titled "Dustin and Stacie" it will explain in detail why Mary had to be taken 6 weeks early by C-Section. To sum it up, my sister-in-law Stacie got something really rare that the doctors had to research to find out what it was because they have never even heard of it. Come to find out, only 40 women have ever been diagnosed with it and the majority of them lost their baby and some lost their own lives as well. Stacie and Mary were both very VERY lucky. We like to call Mary our miracle baby because it really is a miracle that she is here today and we are so very grateful that they are both doing better now. So we were pretty glad we got to see Mary even though she is still in the hospital, she doesn't have anymore tubes in her and is SO cute! She has tons of dark thick hair and looks like her brother Zack. I have never seen a baby with so much hair in my life, I love it! Here is a picture of our precious niece. I wish I would have gotten one with her eyes open 'cause she looks SO cute!So after seeing Mary, we drove back to St. George just in time for the play. We thought since Sara was so good at the Demolition Derby she should do just fine at the play. Which I think she would have if they would have let us keep her in her car seat, but car seats weren't allowed, so it was hard trying to hold her the whole time finding a position that was comfortable for her, but she did okay. Some people were nice about it, others were mean but that's alright. The play was really good. I definitely recommend seeing it if you haven't already.

Sunday morning we headed home because we had to go get Chief and we wanted to see our other new niece Gwenivere. Sara was so good in the car on the way there and back, we just had to stop once each way to feed her and she just slept the rest of the time. So, when we got home we dropped off Sara at Grandma and Papa Goodrich's so she didn't need to be in her car seat anymore and headed to Tooele to see little Gwen. What a beauty she is! You can't see her too well in my picture so take a look at "Ty and Whitney's" blog, she is so cute! Looks just like her Mom.I also had to post a picture of cute Sara in her travel swing. One of the greatest inventions. As I've probably said before, Sara loves her swing at home- it is a life saver. Well, I found this cool travel swing at Babies R Us and had to get it. Just because I'm sure we'll be visiting Salt Lake a lot and for occasions like these, it's just so nice to have, and she loves it!

So that pretty much sums up our weekend. I'm so glad I had a girl because now she'll have lots of girl cousins! There is Mary on Ryan's side, and Gwenivere on my side, as well as Alyvia, Tawnya's baby, who is due in November. So exciting!
