We're Back!

And hating every minute of it! Just kidding, but really- to think we went from 90 degree weather to negative 10. I promise that is what our truck said it was this morning and I couldn't have been more upset. Everyone was ready to go home but me! My brother and sisters missed their kids and home- which is understandable, but Ryan and I didn't come back to either of those :( We came back to the freezing temperature of Bear Lake and work. Now, I don't want to sound like a grumpy gus. It really was such a fun trip and I'm so glad we got to go! It was so nice to have almost our whole family there to do everything together.

The first couple nights we were at sea, and that's when we had our first formal night. During the days the girls would just lay out and the guys would either play basketball, volleyball or swim.
Our first stop was San Juan, Puerto Rico. We got there at 2:00 and just all did our own little thing which was pretty much shopping, so that was fun while it lasted. Our second stop I think was St. Thomas. (I may get these out of order so sorry) Here, we went to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world Maegan's Bay. It was really pretty! We all took a swim in the ocean and then rented some double kayaks and went kayaking for an hour. It really was so awesome! After getting some lunch, we had our bus driver stop on the way back and we got some delicious shakes. Then I think we just did some shopping, we went shopping like at every stop so I get confused what we did where.

Our next stop was St. Maarten where we went to another private beach and did some snorkeling. Ryan had never done it before, so he was loving life. Then I believe we took our bus back to the main part of town and ate lunch and did some more . . . shopping :)

Now, Our next stop was Tortola. This was one of my favorite stops. We went on a little excursion called the "baths" where we had to hike through these little baths and caves that brought us to this awesome beach with clear water and perfect white sand. It really was so awesome.
So then we had another day at sea where we had our second formal night and just kind of chilled on the boat.

Our last and final stop was Nassau, Bahamas. Here we went to Atlantis and saw one of the most amazing aquariums in the world. It was such a beautiful place, I would love to go there on vacation. Then on our way back to the ship we did some more . . . shopping :) Got our last few souvenirs and called it a day.

During our days and nights that were on the boat, our family tried to get into as many competitions and games as we could. My brother-in-law Chaz won a game called "Fruit in the Suit" and Ty, Mike and Chaz were undefeated in basketball. Almost everyone went dancing at the disco club one night, and Ryan and I were chosen to play on the "Love and Marriage" game show. We actually did pretty well for newlyweds, but of course the couple that had been married the longest won. It was kind of embarrassing having to answer all those personal questions in front of my whole family, but really funny.

All in all, it was an amazing trip. It really was so fun and I'm so glad I got to spend that time with my family. Thanks dad for planning such a fun trip for us. That really was one of the best vacations ever!

Announcement!

Well, as some of you already know . . . I'm finally pregnant! I know it wasn't that long, but having 3 sisters, a mom, and a sister-in-law who get pregnant without even trying on the first try- we were a little concerned when we weren't pregnant after the first 5 tries. However, we finally did it! I had my first appt. yesterday with a doctor in Logan and according to the ultrasound I'm about 12 weeks along and my due date is July 26th. I tried uploading the pictures of the ultrasound but I can't seem to get it to work, so my little picture to the right will have to do for now. It was so exciting seeing our baby for the first time wiggling around. Ryan and I were going to start trying January of 2007 but then my Dad came to me and asked if I could hold of for a few months so I wouldn't be the only sibling not going on the cruise. So, I held off for about 6 months and we started trying in June, but didn't get pregnant 'til November. So we were really excited when we found out. We waited 'til Christmas to tell our families and Ryan was going crazy trying to keep it a secret. We wanted to wait to tell everyone else 'til after our first appt. Just so we were sure everything was a-okay and so we knew exactly how far along we were and the actual due date. So we're glad to finally make this announcement so everyone a knows.

Tagged about LIFE and LOVE

about LOVE:
Where did you meet your husband?
I think this was on a previous tag, and most of you already know that Ryan was Ty's best friend. I was always way too young to date any of my brother's friends who were 4 years older than me! That is . . . 'til Ty got back from his mission and I realized Ryan is the only one 3 years older instead of 4, so I thought that wasn't too big of gap :)

What happened next?
Well, Ryan asked me out on a date, by ourselves, without Ty. That was when Ty called to ask Ryan if he wanted to hang out one night and Ryan had to decline by saying - "Uh, me and Tori are actually going out" lol

Where were you married?
After dating for 2 1/2 years we realized we couldn't live without one another and tied the knot on June 24, 2006 in the Salt Lake Temple. Best day of my life . . . so far ;)

What are 3 things you love about your spouse?
1. You mean, besides the fact that he's the most handsome, nicest, smartest, loving, caring, amazing man I've ever met? Well, I guess you could say I really love how whenever we get in a little tiff (fight) and I promise myself I'm going to stay mad at him for the rest of the day . . . he always knows how to make things better in less than 5 minutes. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing but I really think our longest fight since we've been married has lasted maybe 20 minutes. He always ends up making me laugh or smile and I just can't be mad at him anymore. I really do love that about him.
2. I love how he's always willing to try new things. No offense to the Goodrich family, but if you know them- you know it is very hard to get some (not all) but some of them to try new foods, a new restaurant, a new recipe, a new vacation or camping spot. And I'm just so happy Ryan isn't afraid to experience new things. Like, he isn't afraid to pick a vacation spot he's never been, or try a new place to live. I just think you're not living unless you're willing to experiment and expand your horizons a little ya know?
3. I love how awesome Ryan is with kids. He can go up to a kid he's never met before and be best buddies in like 2 seconds. He is an amazing brother to his little brother TJ and an awesome uncle not only to his side of nieces and nephews, but my side too. They all get so excited when they see Uncle Ry Ry! I know he's going to be the best dad.

What are three things about your spouse we would be surprised to find out?
1. Mine and Jessica's husbands are similar in this way. Ryan loves to shop too. He is so cute to take me on a shopping spree for my birthday or just for no reason. He's so nice to sit outside the dressing room and wants me to show him everything I try on. I love it!
2. He's very indecisive. I don't know why, but it is very hard for Ryan to make a big decision. It drives me crazy sometimes, but what can ya do?
3. Most of you already know this, but his biggest pet peeve is crunching. lol It really sucks so bad! We can't have dinner without turning up some music, and we can never eat breakfast together if it's cereal. He has to leave the room if everyone is eating chips and salsa. Weirdest pet peeve in the world, but don't worry, I've learned to suck on my chips and swallow food before it's all the way chewed to avoid his glares and him leaving the room.

What is your favorite thing to do together?
This is kind of hard because we both love doing different things. I love the movies, he loves fishing, I love scrapbooking, he loves watching sports, I love eating, he hates crunching. We do like to take random weekend getaways together though. That's always fun to do.

About LIFE:
If you could sum up your personality in 3 words they would be?
1. easy going
2. shy
3. loving

What makes you happy?
Ryan, family, friends, making people laugh, and food

3 things you would bring to a deserted island (besides the necessities)?
1. Ryan
2. a book
3. a computer

What are you good at?
Ummm . . . I think I'm pretty good at writing, very good at eating, and sleeping?

If you had to eat 3 things for the rest of your life?
1. salad
2. ham fried rice
3. lemons

What are 3 things you can't stand?
1. I hate it when people lie.
2. I can't stand it when people don't listen.
3. I can't stand it when people are always negative.

Where do you want to be in 10 yrs?
I want to be living in a house that we built in Bear Lake, with our 4 maybe 5 kids.

24 Marathon

For the last few years, Ryan and I and all his friends have made a new little tradition for New Years. I don't know how many of you watch 24, but it is the best show and we all love it. We've never watched it on TV, we just always buy the season when it comes out and watch it on DVD, that way we don't have to wait a week to see the next episode and we avoid all the commercials. Anyway, I watched the first season with my parents, and we got addicted and went on the watch the 2nd and 3rd together, then when Ty got home from his mission, we got him addicted, then he got his friends addicted and so on and so forth. So we now have to buy the new season every year and watch it. Since we are almost all married now we've made the tradition of going up to Bear Lake and watching it over New Years since we have that extra day off of work and all. (the reason it's call 24, is because it all takes place in the time span of one day which equals 24 hours) So, pretty much all we do is eat, sleep, and watch 24- that is why we all look so haggard in the photos. LOL just kidding, I guess I shouldn't say that about everyone . . .

So, we started watching Friday night, then our group of friends started to dwindle. First Ty and Whitney had to go home 'cause Ty had to work New Year's Eve. Then Kelly and Melissa had to leave 'cause Kelly had to work New Years Day. Then once Dave and McCall left, it was just me and Ryan settling in our new home. I think pretty much everyone knows by now that Ryan and I are living in my parents cabin at Bear Lake. We both work at an office in Garden City and have just been commuting from Logan, so now we are living in my parents cabin 'til we can find a place to live. So, this will be my last post for a week or two- Ryan and I are leaving for the cruise on FRIDAY! Wooo hoooo! We seriously can't wait! It's going to be so nice to get away to a nice warm atmosphere and wear t-shirts and flip flops again. So, you probably won't hear form us 'til we get back. So, have fun here in cold Utah! Sorry, I'll try not to rub it in. We'll see ya! The 24 crew! Karen, Bill, Nadia, Milo, Chloe, Morris, Audrey and Jack!

Happy New Year!

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I've posted. Well, maybe not to some people- but for me, I usually try to post once a week. I just wanted to make a quick post wishing everyone a Happy New Year! 2007 was definitely a great year, but I think 2008 will be even better! I also just wanted to share one of the most precious things I've ever seen. I know most of you have already seen it, maybe all of you have and I've just been slacking. My Grandma Betty e-mailed this to my parents, who then showed it to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCdZwitrNoY It's just a short recording of a 13-year-old boy who called into this Christian radio station to share something that God told him. I just think it is such an amazing message that we all need to hear and may not think about when we lose someone we love. So, just take a few seconds to click on the link, turn up the volume, and listen to what this boy has to say.
*
That's pretty much all I wanted to post for today. We didn't have a very exciting New Years, Ry and I fell asleep at like 10:30. I know, we must be getting old! Just kidding. But, I'll post some pictures of our 24 marathon later.
