1st time on the boat . . .

Well our first experience taking the boat out could have been better. We got to East Canyon Lake, backed down the boat, and it wouldn't start. So, after a few more tries Ryan finally got it to start long enough to pull into a slip. I parked the truck and trailer and after I joined him we both realized the battery was dead. Ryan's dad was planning on meeting us up there after lunch so we called him and told him we were going to need a new battery or there would be no boating. So Ryan, Sara and I just hung out on the boat for about 2 hours 'til his dad got there with the battery. We were a little bored but Sara was absolutely loving life. She was just crawling around and on everything in the boat and couldn't be happier. (as you can see)

So Ryan's Dad finally made it up there with TJ, and Ryan's cousins Savannah, and the twins, Emery and Rachel. We got the new battery in and the boat was up and running as good as new! It was nothing but fun from then on out.

Unfortunately we couldn't find the cigarette lighter for the pump to blow up the tube. But we still had fun swimming, hanging out on the boat and everyone took a turn on the kneeboard. Even me and my baby bump :) This is Savannah, got up on her first try second time around...

So, even though things could have been better it was really fun for our first time and we can't wait to take it out again!

One Cloudy Weekend

Well, my parents have been on a European cruise for the last 2 weeks and we thought it'd be fun to take advantage of their vacant cabin and invite Ryan's family up for Father's Day weekend. We loaded up the boat, and packed our bags with swimming suits, towels and sunscreen for some fun in the sun- little did we know, the sun wouldn't come out 'til we were driving home :( So, even though we couldn't take our boat or go to the beach, we made the most of it by doing a little four wheeling, bike riding, and staying warm indoors. Sara loved the four wheelers. Ryan would take her on them and she would cry when he'd stop. I went with them a couple times and one time she fell asleep while riding. I took this picture while the four wheeler was going because if we'd slow down or stop she'd wake up. Keep in mind we were on a trail up the canyon that was so bumpy! I don't know how she slept through it, but I thought it was pretty cute. Ryan and I got new bikes for our Anniversary- yes, it was a quite and early gift but we couldn't pass up the sale.

So I got Ryan this bike trailer for Sara so the whole family could go on a ride together. It can hold two kids so our next one will be just old enough next summer to ride in it with Sara. We took a little bike ride to Round Valley and Sara was in 7th Heaven and didn't make a peep the whole time.

Then of course, we can't go to Bear Lake and not get a famous raspberry shake. So, Sara had her first taste of the best raspberry banana shake ever, and of course- she loved it!

No Teeth Yet...

But I can't say I'm too upset, because I'll admit- I'm a little worried they might come in like this... This is what my baby teeth looked like... And the adult permanent ones weren't any better if any of you remember me in Elementary. Yes, you only see 4 teeth and that small one on the far right didn't have a permanent one above it. If you're wondering where all my teeth are, I couldn't tell you. I was born missing ELEVEN permanent teeth! 5 in the front and 6 in the back. I had braces for 4 years then after wearing a retainer with fake teeth on it for 2 1/2 years I had all 3 of my permanent top teeth shaved down and capped with with the teeth I have now. My Mom was missing a couple teeth and passed it down to 6 out of 7 of her kids. I am just praying I don't do the same thing to my kids. Of course I was missing the most teeth out of everyone and had the biggest gap. Ryan's teeth are better... but he still had some problems too. All I can say is good thing we have Dental Insurance! Sara is so darling I feel like there isn't anything that could take away her cuteness. I just really don't want her to have to go through the same things I did, not only with all the dentist and orthodontist appointments, but if any of you have kids in Elementary you know all kids aren't very nice and I was teased to tears because of my teeth. So, I think it will still be a couple months before we see any teeth, I just hope when we do there will be more than 4 on the top and they won't be so spaced out. So cross your fingers!

Twisty Tongue

Sara is so funny. She has this new thing where she always has her tongue twisted, like really always! She's doing it now as I'm writing this. It's funny 'cause Ryan doesn't know how to do it so I guess that's one thing she got from me. I think it's pretty cute so I thought I'd post some pics of it.

Brighton and Murray (SO don't miss them)

Just a little FYI for you all. First of all- I wasn't a big fan of High School love love loved 9th grade but couldn't really stand the last 3 years. Loved the few friends I had, then started dating Ryan my Jr. Year then only went half day my Sr. Year and was just ready to be done! Wanted to get out, get married and start a family. Which is pretty much what I did. So the first 2 years of High School were spent at Brighton, then I switched my Senior year and went to Murray...

1. Did you date someone from your school? Yes, well- from Brighton because I was dating this hotty when I went to Murray.
(my future husband at the time)

2. What kind of car did you drive? My sophmore year - An old white Buick 'til I got my Yellow VW Bug
3. Did you pass your driver's license test on the first try? No :( I took private lessons during the summer because I wanted my driver's lincense when I turned 16 and they were strict! I took my test on my birthday and couldn't parallel park. The little asian man who ran A+ Driving School tried to break it to me nicely by saying- "I'm sorry but, it's not a happy Birday fo you." Then I passed the next day :)
4. Were you a party animal? No
5. Were you considered a flirt? Probably
6. Did you play in band, orchestra, or choir? No
7. Were you a nerd? No- at least I hope not.
8. Were you on any varsity teams? No
9. Did you get suspended/expelled? No
10. Can you still sing the fight song? No- but I still remember some cheers from Brighton even though I wasn't a cheerleader.
11. Who were your favorite teachers? Probably Mrs. Spackman from Murray, I seriously loved her! Oh and I loved my Spanish teacher from Brighton my Jr. year... I think his name was Senor Wilding.
12. Where did you eat lunch? Sophmore year was with Emily at Panda Express almost every day, Jr. Year somewhere with Lisa and Teisha we loved the dollar crazy bread from Little Ceasers. And Sr. Year was usually at my house or Blake's.
(This was taken on St. Patricks Day hence the matching green shirts. But, why does it look like Teisha and I are posing? LoL We are so sick!)

13. What is your schools full name? Brighton High School and Murray High School
14. School mascot and colors? Brighton Bengals-orange and blue. Murray Spartans-orange and black
15. Did you go to Homecoming and who with? Um- let me think. I don't think I went Sophmore year because all the sophmore guys were too scared to ask to the first dance. I don't know if I went Jr. Year either. Sr. Year I was going to Murray and I went with Tim and I also got asked to Brighton's Homecoming by Michael McDonald. (<- one of the funnest dances ever!)
(Some of my favorite dances were with friends. Why weren't the ones with boyfriends as much fun?)
16. If you could go back and do it again, would you? I'd rather spend 3 months in a jail cell then go back to High School.
17. What do you remember about your graduation? Nothing. I didn't go.
18. Were you in any clubs? Nope. Tried to be, but didn't get enough votes.
19. Who was your prom date? Sophmore year I went to Jr. Prom with Matt Stowell. Jr. Year I went to Brighton's Jr. Prom with Chris Jakeman and Murray's Jr. Prom with Blake Rowley. Went to Senior Ball at Murray with Blake Rowley.
(One of my best friends!)
20. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion? You would have to pay me to go.
21. Did you have a job while in high school? I've had a job since I was 14. During my years at Brighton I worked as a hostess at Archibald's Restaurant. Senior year I had work realease for my job at Dish Network.

Well, there you have it! Hope it wasn't too disturbing for you all to read. Now here's the part where I'm supposed to tag someone and I honestly don't remember the last time someone followed up after I've tagged them- so, I guess whoever wants to do it can.
