Traditional Halloween Friends Trip to Bear

As some of you know, we have a tradition of having all our friends up to Bear Lake for a Halloween party. Some of you may not know how long it's beeen going on. Well, Ryan claims that he and Ty started it right when Ty got off his mission or maybe even before that- but that was before they started inviting their girlfriends, I started going as soon as that tradition started and haven't missed a trip yet. Last weekend was our 5th year! I think the only other couple that has made it every single year is Kelly and Melissa, and hopefully we can keep it going!

20072008 2009We have a few traditions to go along with our Halloween weekend. We always carve pumpkins Saturday night, sometimes watch a scary movie, tell scary stories and try to play the Dare Game. We choose a dare and whoever picks up the Ace of Spades has to complete the dare. There have been some good ones! Kelly, Ryan, Melissa H and Melissa E have all had to jump in the lake (keep in mind it's freezing this time of year). Melissa E had to try and eat a tablespoon of cinnamon and Melissa H has had to walk through the graveyard. Every year it seems more and more people wuss out when it comes time to play though...
Still, it's always fun to get everyone together and celebrate Halloween!

Our October

Well, our October so far has been a blast. I was hoping by this time I'd be able to write about our new house and how we're all moved in but I'm afraid we're still waiting. It's getting pretty frustrating living in a packed up house and not knowing when we're going to move, but I guess with the home run grants and tax write offs or whatever they are, and how strict banks have become since the economy/market crashed things just take a lot longer. But- we've tried to take advantage of living close to certain things like Gardner Village before we move. The first time I went was with my mother-in-law. We tried getting some cute pictures of Sara but I swear, the older they get the harder it is. She was absolutely loving the witches and loves to say what the witch says "hee eee eee" every time she sees one. It really is so cute. Then I went again with Ryan for my Birthday last night. We ate at Archibald's Restaurant, then just walked around the shops a little. October has got to be one of my favorite months (and not just because it's my Birthday month :) Autumn has always been my favorite season. The temperature is perfect, and I just love how all the leaves have finally changed. Just the smell outside is the best! I also love Halloween and all that comes with it; decorations, costumes, carving pumpkins... Can't wait for our first real Halloween celebration this weekend. The traditional friend's trip. I'll have to post about it when we get back. Until then! Have a Happy October!

Here We Go Again...

I swear, it feels like I've been pregnant for 2 years straight! Oh wait, I pretty much have. It's crazy to think I just had a baby last year, and now I'm having another one! But I couldn't be happier. Things are going just great, pretty much the same as last time- I don't get sick which is so nice 'cause I'm telling you right now, there's now way we'd be pregnant again if I got as sick as some of my sisters do when they're pregnant. So, my pregnancies are a breeze right up until the last couple months. This is where it starts to get a little rough, but nothing I should be complaining too much about. Every time I have an appt. my doctor almost laughs just because there are never any questions or concerns. He always apologizes that I have to wait so long for a 30 second appt. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do. So, as most of you know, Ryan and I don't find out what we're having. It was a big surprise with Sara and is going to be the same thing with this one, but for some reason, since the day we found out we were pregnant, I've thought it's a boy. I don't know why, I've just always felt that. Then again, I thought Sara was a boy for the first 6 months too. So, we really don't know, but all along I've been calling the baby Landon and Ryan's been calling the baby Della. (which are our names if you were wondering) So, really- we have no idea but we can't wait to find out in less than 2 months! As for our house... We were supposed to move in this weekend but I guess it's not going to be 'til the beginning of next week. I honestly feel like a 6 year old counting down the days 'til Christmas. Time just seems to drag on 'til we move. Our whole house is pretty much packed up and I am ready to go! So, please cross your fingers and let's hope we'll be official homeowners by this time next week.
Then I want to throw a little open house boutique party beginning of November, but... I'm a little hesitant to throw any kind of party after how my last one turned out. I only had 5 people show up after sending out 45 invitations. It was pretty sad, and I promised myself I'd never throw another one, but... I need to earn a little extra Christmas money and thought I could by selling all my crafts from my business I tried to start. I still have all these glass blocks, magnet boards, and signs that I just need to get rid of. So, I thought I'd throw a little party and try to sell them all for cheap! But, I thought I'd also have some other vendors there in hopes it will attract more people. So, my friend Teisha is going to be there selling her handmade baby bows and accessories, and my sister Tawnya said she'd come and offer her Mary Kay makeup, then we'll also have a Scentsy distributor there. So there will be lots of good stuff and I'm thinking of getting someone to do glitter toes as well. I don't know, whatever will get more than 5 people! I'm a little more worried about this party because of course I want to throw it at my house, but it's in Clearfield which is right next to Layton and I just don't know who really wants to drive that far. Anyway... The reason I'm blogging about this, is because I want to get an estimate of how many people really would be interested in coming before I actually make it official and send out invitations. So, if you need to get some Christmas shopping done let me know and I'll more than likely throw this little boutique party.
P.S. I originally had the real invitation with all the info. on here, then realized- maybe I don't want to be posting a picture of my house with the address and all my contact info. on my blog that is open to anyone. So... if you really are interested. Just let me know, and I can either e-mail or mail you an invite. Thanks!

Pajama Party

Lisa, Teisha, Me and Lindsey
So my best friend Teisha had her beautiful baby boy last month and I haven't really gotten the chance to post about it. But you can see him in the picture above and he is absolutely darling! So, we had only gotten together once since she's had him, since it's a little harder to go places now that she has two kids and we don't live real close. So, she planned a night in with the girls last night and it was just what we needed! She is always the best host and had pizza, salad and some homemade peach cobbler waiting for us when we got there that we absolutely demolished! It wasn't really planned to be a pajama party, Teisha was just telling us how much more comfortable it is to wear sweats after having a baby, and same goes for being pregnant, so we just decided to all come in our sweats and chill. It's so fun because three out of the four girls have kids and we all had a girl first. Then Teisha and Lindsey have one more, and I have one on they way! So, three of us will each have 2 kids by December! So crazy! You need to get on it Lisa! No, it's actually pretty funny 'cause when we get together and we're all talking about our kids, Lisa has boys of her own she can talk about. She's a nanny of 5 kids, and there are 2 sets of twins! So, it sometimes seems like she's more of a mom than we are! So, I don't know how soon she'll be having them- that's gotta be the best birth control ever!
Speaking of pajamas- I have a couple pictures of Sara in her pajamas that I found pretty funny. So, I don't know what it is about Chief's pillow that Sara loves, but there's something that just draws her to it. I guess she thinks it's just the perfect size pillow for her to sit on, or maybe it's the fact that we don't want her to go on it, but she just has a hay day playing on it. Well, one morning she was being pretty quiet so I went to find her laying comfortably on Chief. Then I think it was the morning before, or after that we woke up to one cold house. We leave our windows cracked at night 'cause it gets really warm down here, and one morning we woke up and it was freezing. Even though Sara was in some warmer jammies, she was like shaking she was so cold. So, I went and got her some slippers and a beenie to put on while she ate her breakfast and watched her morning shows, and I couldn't help but snap this picture. I thought it was hilarious.

So that's our little pajama update. Sara and I went to Gardner Village today with my mother-in-law so I'll have to post pictures of that another day. Right now, it's way past my bedtime. Goodnight.
