Thanksgiving Weekend

It was so nice to have such a long weekend for Thanksgiving. Not only do we not have to work, but we get to spend time with friends and family. AND we, well I get to do the "after Thanksgiving Day sales"! After a nice Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Garrett's (Ryan's mom's mom) we vistited Ryan's other side of the family, Grandma and Grandpa Goodrich then Ryan went to a movie while I headed to my parent's house to try and get in at least 2 hours of sleep before our big night out shopping! My sister Teneil and I started a little tradition of hitting up all the sales the day after Thanksgiving. Last year Fasion Place Mall opened at 12:00 AM and this year it was doing the same. Only there were more malls opening at that time so it wasn't half as crowded as it was last year. It really was a lot of fun. My brother Tanner's girlfriend Ger came with us at midnight, then my sister Tawnya met up with us around 4:30 at Wal-Mart. After getting what we could at Wal-Mart we hit up Old Navy, then Target around 6:00 when it opened, then Shopko after that. It really was a blast and we all got a ton of our Christmas shopping done. The picture above is Teneil and I after our first stop. That's only about half of our bags we're holding. We kept making fun of Ger 'cause she only had one little bag from American Eagle. (I know, we look hot)

We got done shopping around 7:30 in the morning. We headed back to my parent's and transferred all of our bags to our cars. After eating some breakfast I hit the hay. I was SO tired and didn't feel quite caught up after my 2 hour nap. But, I had gotten enough sleep to get me through the rest of the day.

Ryan and I met up with his family at his parent's house to go out to dinner. We ate at this (somewhat) new restaurant called Bonsai. It was really good and actually quite entertaining. A chef cooked all the food right in front of you on a big grill and also tried tossing some shrimp into our mouths.

After we all stuffed our faces, we went back to his parent's and decided we needed a little treat to top it off. So, Stephanie and Cathie went to the store and bought Vanilla ice cream as well as every topping you can imagine. We made some delicious ice cream sundaes. Cathie was very proud of hers- as you can see . . .

After we were satisfied with our dessert, we put on a movie called "Rescue Dawn" which I actually got Ryan for Christmas but, he wanted it a little early 'cause he loves it so much. No one really liked it but me, Ryan, A-rus and Cathie, but if anyone knows the Goodrich's, you know most of them don't like movies at all.

The next day Ryan and I spent almost all day at my Grandma Betty's. She was nice enough to make us some lunch and dinner with her Thanksgiving left overs. Then Ryan and I went out to eat with Jordan and Dave, then met up with Kelly and Melissa at my parent's house and watched "Rescue Dawn" yes, again. It really is that good.

I just wanted to take a quick minute to say how thankful I am for everyone and everything in my life. I am so glad we have a holiday to recognize all that we have. I have been so blessed to not have any major tragedies in my life. I don't know what I'd do without my wonderful husband Ryan as well as my family and his. I hear so many horror stories of spouses that can't stand their in-laws, but as you can probably tell by my blog- I love mine SO much! It's funny how it takes moving away to realize how much family really means to you. I'm just glad that we have all stayed so close throughout the years. I'm grateful for a nice home to live in, a job to support us, and a church that is true. There are a million other things- but it would take all month to let everyone know all that I'm thankful for. I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving, and I hope Christmas will be just as good!

Turkey girl-

I see you have on the turkey sweatshirt in that picture... I guess that means you smelled like a turkey the whole time you were at the mall! Ha! Ha!
That was lots of fun...I'm glad I met up with you guys!
