Sara's Schedule

Well, I've always been told it's good to get your kid(s) on a schedule, and that's exactly what I did. Now I'm not so sure... No, it has been really really nice to have Sara on a schedule but all I can say is "Watch Out!" if she gets off it. So, here is our every day schedule. She wakes up at about 7:30 or 8:00 and I bring her into bed with me and Ryan to watch her show "Super Why".
I don't know what it is a bout this show, but she absolutely loves it. I mean, we've tried every show, like Curious George, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Sesame Street or any other colorful cartoon but she only likes "Super Why" it is so funny! So, She hangs out in my bed and watches "Super Why" while Ryan gets ready and I eat breakfast.
Once her show is over, I feed her some breakfast, then let her play in her saucer or sit in her bumbo and watch me get ready. By the time I'm done, it's about 9:30-10:00 and she's ready for her morning nap. She usually sleeps about two hours then is up again, and it's her turn to get ready, and spend some time with Mom and usually Dad when he comes home for lunch. I feed her a little bit of lunch and let her sit in her bumbo and watch me do the laundry. Then by 1:30 or 2:00 she's ready for her afternoon nap. She sleeps 'til 4:00 and gets excited if Dad gets home from work a little early. She watches me make dinner, while I try and feed her dinner at the same time, then hangs out with her Dad.
Then at about 6:00 it's time for her bath. She usually gets in with me or Ryan and loves it more than anything! She get's so excited when she hears the water and we start getting her undressed. I love it! Once she's out of the tub, she's ready to eat and go to bed.

It really is so nice knowing what comes next with her every day. But I'm not kidding when I say she is not very happy when she misses something. Like, one day we woke up and Ryan was watching the news instead of her show and she was being so fussy! I tried nursing, but she wasn't hungry and we didn't know what her problem was. Then I thought maybe she wanted her show on. Ryan said "No way. She couldn't be fussy about that." I told him to turn it on and sure enough- instantly quiet and glued to the TV. I couldn't believe it. Then when we went to all of our Christmas parties she really got off her schedule and she was so tired and would cry and fuss and just wanted her own bed.

She really is so cute and too funny. I love her so much! I just hope I'll be able to keep up on her daily routine so I don't get in trouble...

She is so cute laying on your bed like that. Schedules are great for babies which proves how wonderful of a mother you are. I love you girl!

Hey Tori - I think schedules are a great idea! There are many more days that a schedule comes in handy than days when you wish you didn't have one. There are ALWAYS going to be days when they don't get down in time and they are sad but I promise a schedule is worth it. Walker is still on one - and it makes my days better. I can always plan stuff around his naps and not have to guess when he is going to want to sleep.

She's so funny... it's soooo nice when you get your babies scheduled, but it's also nice for them to be a little flexible. Too bad Sara's so smart and knows what she wants!

Tori, I just stop by every now and then. You have the cutest little girl ever! I also noticed you put up a private or not... I am not sure if you remember me and or think i'm a psycho you don't know. Anyway we worked together at NFM shortly.. I got married and moved away before you and Ryan were even engaged. I worked there for a long time back with Stacie worked there.. Anyway I usually stop in once I visit tey's blog and see your guys' link and want to see how much cuter your little girl got. Either way thought I would remind you who I am in case I am one of those commentors that you don't recognize. :)
I have a blog if you want an invite just let me know. the_royalfamily@msn.com (if you think a picture will help)
