Summer Concerts

I had only been to one concert before I met Ryan, and now I've been to about 10 and only one has been without him. I went to my first concert without him this week which was American Idol! I went with his Mom instead. My good friend Melissa offered me a ticket and we were planning to go together, but last second plans changed and luckily Cathie's Tuesday night was available to come to A.I. with me :) We both love American Idol and were both very pleased when Kris Allen won! He was our favorite. Then we got to see him live in concert! They all sounded just as good as when they were on TV, and we loved every minute.

I think my favorites were Kris Allen, of course, and I was never a huge fan of Lil but I loved it when she sang Alicia Keys and Beyonce. Then I really enjoyed it when they all sang together.

Then could I really go to my first American Concert and not get a t-shirt to remember it by? They were a little spendy, but worth it right? Now I'll always have something to remember my American Idol concert by :)

Then Friday night was finally the George Strait concert. First of all, Ryan is one of the biggest country fans I know, I mean I always liked country, but never really got into it 'til I met Ryan. He loves everything about country and George Strait is his favorite country singer. So, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to buy him tickets when they went on sale. I asked my parents and his to go in on them with me 'cause they were quite expensive for the ones I wanted, so we all pitched in and got him these 11th row (from the front) tickets to George Strait for his Birthday. Keep in mind I got these like back in March and had to keep it a secret 'til July 11th! But I did it and he loved it.

I've never been a die hard fan of George like Ryan is. I mean, I like some of his songs, but he's not my favorite. One reason I was excited to go was to see Julianne Hough and Blake Shelton who were opening for George. Too bad there was way bad traffic and we only got to see Julianne sing one song, but Blake put on a great show, so that was good.George was great too. He sang every song we wanted him to sing. Usually when we go to concerts at the amphitheater we just get lawn seats 'cause their the cheapest but I'm telling you, the seats are what made it. I've never had such good seats to a concert in my life! I didn't even really need my glasses, well, at least not 'til it got dark. He really put on the best show, Ryan and I loved every minute of it!Ryan and I each got a George Strait t-shirt too and I was a little disappointed we didn't get our picture with them on, but I'm sure you'll see one on here some day 'cause they're awesome. Thanks Ryan for pretty much introducing me to the world of concerts. If it weren't for you I'd still probably only have been to that one I went to when I was like 14 with my sister. Oh, and maybe a couple Kenny Loggins with my parents. "No one sings a Strait song like George himself!"
