We Love July

So far, this month has been a lot better than June- more sun and less rain! Even though the weather people said the 4th of July weekend was supposed to be rainy the whole time... it turned out to be one of the nicest weekends so far!
Ryan had the day off Friday, and we were planning on taking the boat out but like I said, the weather people scared us away so we decided to go fishing and hit up the Park City outlets. We kept waiting for the weather to rain out the Rodeo but it was still blue skies and perfect to finish the night off with the annual Oakley Rodeo, a Goodrich tradition that's been going on for many many years, and I don't think I've missed it once since I've been with Ryan.
Saturday was the 4th, so we woke up and went to the Holladay Parade (also a Goodrich tradition) then Ryan and I started a tradition of our own- we decided to get some homemade breakfast at the carnival which was absolutely delicious! A little later we headed over to the field to play some softball. Sara and I watched from some shade on the grass while the whole Goodrich clan played a good game.

After a hot game in the sun, nothing sounded better than a dip in the pool. So that's exactly what we did! We headed over to the club to do some swimming with Ryan's cousins.
Sara was a little worn out after a long day so we headed home and laid her down while Ryan and I joined the Goodrich's once again for a BBQ in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. (which is also our backyard) After the BBQ we grabbed our blankets and went to reserve some spots at the park for the Holladay Firework show.Sara was such a good girl the whole time. She really just loves being outside. Ever since she was really little if anyone would tend, I'd tell them- "if all else fails, just take her outside." And it always worked, she'd instantly stop crying. It felt like forever 'til the fireworks started and even longer 'til they ended. Sara enjoyed about the first 10 minutes then ended up falling asleep for the rest.So it really was such a fun holiday weekend. We spent the 4th with my family in Bear last year so, this year we thought we'd switch holidays and we're going to spend the 24th with my family. So I hope everyone had an amazing weekend celebrating the birth of our country 'cause we sure did. I love having 2 holidays in one month- especially in the summer. Nothing better than Ryan getting a day off of work and spending time with family.
