crazy CHRISTMAS week

Christmas Eve
Wow, I feel like all we do is go go go the month of December and the week of Christmas was pretty crazy...but fun!! The parties started Wednesday and continued on through Christmas day. First one was our annual Walker Christmas party where my Mom's whole side of the family gets together. I personally love this tradition just because it's been going on ever since I can remember and it always seems like as the family grows bigger it slowly grows apart, so there are years where this is really the only time I see most of my extended family. It was still a lot of fun though!
Walker Christmas Party
Then there was my family's Christmas party on Thursday where all the adults went to "A Christmas Carol" at Hale Center Theater then back to my parents house for dinner, games, and presents! I didn't get any pics of Dell because she was running around naked half the time then went to bed before we opened presents. But here's Sara showing off her new doll from her aunt Terra... Christmas Eve is when the Goodrich's have their party. We always have dinner with Ryan's extended family then go to his parents house to open Christmas jammies. The girls were pretty pooped by the time we actually opened them but I still managed to snap a pic of T, Della, Tyler and Sar.Christmas day is always crazy 'cause we try and visit everyone! And it doesn't make it easy when the girls don't wake up 'til 9:00 so we can't start our day 'til later. It was nice to sleep in though and really fun watching them open all their presents.

Christmas Morning
After presents we all got ready, got the girls in their Christmas dresses and headed to Grammy and Papa's house to open more presents from them. We usually visit my parents next but they were out of town, so we went to Grandma and Grandpa Goodrich's after that. Then we head out to Grandma and Grandpa Garretts who live in Riverton for some more presents, then to my Grandma Walker's house in Orem for a little something to eat. Then back to Ryan's parents to load up our gifts and head back home.

Then we all got sick the day after Christmas. I don't know if it was perfect timing or horrible timing, 'cause our house was still a mess from Christmas morning, all the decorations are still up and I just barely got all their toys and gifts put away yesterday. We all made a trip to the doctor and got some meds so we're all feeling much better now, but we had a rough couple days. Now we're all better and can finally enjoy all our Christmas goodies! It's always a sad day when Christmas is over. There is just such a happy spirit in the air during the month of December and I know most think it's because of the excitement of the kids, the giving of gifts, and the snow, lights and beautiful decorations, but I know it's because of the reason we're celebrating. I know it's the spirit we're feeling is the spirit of our Savior and it's so much stronger during the month of December because we're celebrating his birth. It was my Mom's birthday on the 16th and we kept trying to explain that to Sara but she just kept saying "No, it's Jesus' birthday!" If a 2-year-old can remember it, we all should be able to. I hope everyone had a very very Merry Christmas!!! I know we sure did!
