This last weekend Ryan had a closing in St. George on Friday, so we thought we'd make a weekend of it and packed up the girls to take a trip down south for some warmer weather. We had originally planned on staying in Mesquite for the free massage and golf deal. We were going to meet our friends Kelly, Melissa and their baby girl Sophia down there, but Sophia got sick so they didn't end up making it. So- we cancelled the Mesquite plan and made up our own! After Ryan's closing we hung

out in St. George and stayed the night there. We woke up and did some swimming (in the hot tub) and shopping, then headed to Vegas to visit Ryan's mom, our sister-in-law, and our nieces and nephew.
...but not before we made a couple stops on the strip to show Sar and Del some of the fun things Vegas has to offer. Not that our 2 year old and 1 year old cared all that much- but we thought it'd be fun!
...and Della thought she was really cool walking down the strip. She's on this new kick where she thinks she needs to walk everywhere!! Which is great- I guess. It will be nice when baby number three comes along 'cause I won't be able to hold both of them, but still- she's only 1 (even though she thinks she's 12) and she's not the fastest walker around.
(don't mind the closeup of me and Sar at the habitat, Ryan took it with his phone and with all the people it was kind of hard to get a good pic)

We first stopped at MGM 'cause we thought the girls would like to see the live lion habitat. They actually thought it was pretty cool, if we could hold them high enough to see over all the rest of the tourists. I really can't believe how 95% of the people with their noses pressed up against the glass to see the lions were grown adults. I mean, I guess it's cool to see a lion, but I'm not kidding- people just sat there forever staring at these lions like they'd never seen one before in their life. Then again-- maybe they haven't. I don't know.

After seeing what we could of the lions, we walked down to the M&M Factory. Della was loving these M&M guys that were just her size. She'd go up and give them all a kiss, it was so cute!

Then we drove home that night so the girls could sleep the whole way home. It was a short but fun trip! Very nice to get away from this frigid weather and enjoy some warmth!

This post made me so sad!! I wanted to be on that trip so bad. I was teary eyed as we drove home from Orem with our car all packed for warmer weather with shorts and swim suits. Sophia was in the backseat crying with her rosy cheeks, a fever, a running nose, and covered in throw up. It was a pretty sad moment! I'm glad you guys made it to Vegas. Looks like it was a fun trip. We'll for sure be there next time!
